Meetings That Work: Online
Description: Meetings That Work is a course for the person who desires to lead meetings that are effective, productive, and move vital projects forward.
Meetings That Work Online covers the same content as the in-person course. Incorporating a mix of theory, real-life experiences, hands-on application and practical tools, each day is divided into 2 3-hour sessions separated by a 2-hour break. (The longer break provides time for participants to complete assignments for the next session.
The course is divided into four modules:
- Creating participatory meetings: participation at its best, levels of involvement in decision making and facilitating brainstorming.
- Planning agenda items: agenda design and creating facilitation plans to address each agenda item.
- Designing meetings and events: keys to healthy communication, preparing for meetings and creating meeting designs.
- Facilitating meetings: stages of the group’s journey, social styles, the facilitator’s role, dealing with challenging situations and personal action planning.
Zoom is the audio-visual platform, and Mural.co provides the interactive space for visual collaboration. (Prior experience with Mural is not required.)
In this course you will learn how to:
- Increase the productivity of the group.
- Focus the purpose and intent of large and small meetings.
- Aid the group in its decision-making processes.
- Handle difficult situations in groups.
- Match process tools to each group’s needs.Design effective agendas.Create participatory environments.
